This image was taken on a perfect day for capturing a black and white image. A monster thunderstorm was approaching from the southeast behind the Lake Murray dam on what was otherwise a "bluebird" day with blue skies and no clouds. This combination set up the perfect scenario for printing the image in Ansel Adams' classic style of making the blue sky appear black. Finding a huge storm like this one isolated against a blue sky in the correct location for a great composition does not happen often.
